Choosing the right credit card
can be difficult with the number of offers available today. Most credit cards
are affiliated to one of the major credit card providers, such as Visa,
MasterCard, or American Express with each having multiple options to choose
from. Consumers need to decide exactly what they need in a credit card.
Here are some of the things
consumers need to look for when deciding which offer to accept.
Is the credit card offered by a company
you know and trust?
What is the
annual percentage rate (APR) for the card?
IS this a temporary, introductory or
permanent rate?
What is the
credit limit they have offered you? How often are you billed?
How are repayments calculated and is the
outstanding balance free of interest if you pay off the full amount each
month?
Are there other charges or fees
associated with the credit card?
These are all important
questions you should ask yourself before submitting the application. This
actually looks easier than it really is. Be sure to read all of the fine print
because there is important information to be found in it.
When choosing the right credit
card for rewards it's relevant to be aware of the rewards being offered by that
particular card. Remember, take into consideration any of the small print
associated with the rewards being offered.
The APR is usually calculated
in a standard way for all lenders. This does not mean the Apr is set in stone. A
Low Fixed APR may seem attractive but the company can in force large charges for
late payments and card providers also have the right to alter your interest rate
in the future. There will be many unknowns if the credit card terms and
conditions are not read.
It's easy to qualify for a
credit card of choice today, with an immense number of providers willing to give
credit. All boundaries need to be checked before choosing the right credit card
or there could be consequences that are not realized until it's to late. Good
Luck! .
